Just two years after Matt's first I love you, we secretly tied the knot at the New York City Marriage Bureau. Because the officiant (our bestie, Paris) for our July wedding was not ordained, we had planned to officially get married (just us) at some point before our summer wedding. We chose this significant date in our relationship and planned to keep this special moment to ourselves. Little did we know at the time, this would be our only wedding in 2020. Shortly after what we referred to as our "marriage date," COVID-19 turned into a global pandemic and within a few short weeks our country was on lockdown. Upon deciding to postpone our wedding out a full year, we no longer wanted to keep this major event to ourselves! While we are disappointed we will not have the wedding we dreamed of this year, we are incredibly grateful to have each other during this time of global crisis. Then we ate our way down to Marbella and hopped over to Paris to see France win the World Cup. Within a week of getting back to the states, Gianna moved in and we were certain we had something incredibly special between us.
