We met at Google — I was working as a cook and Marco was one of the attendants delivering the food I made. Our very first interaction was… memorable. ✨ He yelled at me over missing guacamole. The guacamole in question? Sitting directly in front of his face the entire time. So naturally, I picked it up and tossed it toward him without saying a word. Romance. 🥑=❤️ After that, I unintentionally refused to remember his name. Then one day he came into work dressed up and I remember thinking, “Okay wait… who is THAT tall man?” Still couldn’t remember his actual name though, so I gave him a random white-girl name I could remember: Stacy. Somehow “The Stacys” became our thing — meanwhile he thought I was flirting the entire time. 😏 Our first date was technically a make-up date because I accidentally stood him up the day before. And by “stood him up,” I mean I fell asleep and texted him 45 minutes after we were supposed to meet. Thankfully, he gave me another chance. 🫣 Our actual first date was at San Pedro Square Market — still, to this day, the best thing to come out of San Jose. We drank a lot, had our first kiss… and then Marco immediately ran to the bathroom to throw up. True love at its finest.🍻 From that point on, we became inseparable. Long before we had kids, we already knew we were made for each other. Then came Lorenzo, and later Luna, making our little family complete. 👨👩👧👦 Marco proposed in Costa Rica after I casually joked that I would marry him if he took me to meet sloths (because sloths are life). A few months later, we found ourselves hiking 1,000 actual steps through the rainforest to a breathtaking waterfall. After making it all the way back up — sweaty, exhausted, and doing significantly more physical activity than I typically believe in — he got down on one knee overlooking the waterfall and asked me to marry him. 🦥💍 The answer was always going to be yes… even if he made me climb 1,000 stairs first.
