Dear family and friends, As we keep an eye on the approaching hurricane, we wanted to update you about our wedding plans. As of now, all of our wedding plans are still on! Our venue is a newly constructed building located relatively inland and not in a flood zone, so we’re hopeful it will remain safe and sound. We’ve also checked in with our catering team, and they’ve indicated as of today that they’ll be operational. If anything changes, we have a backup food plan ready to go! Most importantly, no matter what happens, we’re committed to getting married and celebrating our love with all of you. If we need to make adjustments, we’ll still be thrilled to share this special day together. We hope that everyone can still make it down safely! Thank you for your understanding and support. May 28, 2021 | First Date - American Social It all started on May 17, when David liked Brooke's photo on Hinge and she invited him to start the chat. Ironically enough, that photo he liked depicted the three* women he would later meet on their first date. *Yes, three! Brooke's sister, Kayla and their friend Natalie strategically came to the bar an hour after Brooke and David met for the first time, as an out so Brooke could excuse herself to leave early if they didn't hit it off. If you've ever done online dating, you understand. Little did Brooke know that only minutes after meeting David, she would know he was the real deal. David ended up bar hopping with them for the rest of the night. July 3, 2021 | It's Official - Post Harbour Place David asked Brooke to officially be his girlfriend after a Lightning watch party with his friends, Andrew and Michelle. Before Brooke arrived, Andrew's mom asked who was coming to meet up for the game and David’s response was "just a girl I've been seeing"... which the more he thought about, the more he disliked as a response because of course, she was more than "just some girl". Later that night, he made it official. Thank you, Andrew's mom! September 18, 2021 | I Love You - Bern's Park If you know David, then you know he is one of the biggest FSU fans out there. This night they met up with some friends, at AmSo where they had their first date, and watched as FSU lost a game we all know they should have won. But instead of being down in defeat, they went out bar hopping to make the most of the weekend. On their drunken walk home, David couldn't help but say I love you for the first time. Quickly followed by an "I told myself I would not say this drunk... I just couldn't help it" and "I've known since the first time we met." All of which was a big surprise to Brooke given the FSU loss earlier that day, and yet somehow not surprising, as she felt the exact same way. May 21, 2022 | Move In Day - S De Soto Apartments Brooke and David had a decision to make. It was just under a year since they started dating and David's lease was up. They were torn on what to do, as they weren't sure if it was too soon to be living together but if they decided it was time... would they live in David's bougie Harbor Island apartment, Brooke's small one bedroom, or find a new place altogether. They both agreed that even though it was just under a year, they were ready for this next step. After some convincing, Brooke finally got David to agree to move in to her tiny, outdated SoHo apartment. They settled in and quickly realized that they made the right decision and were setting themselves up for a successful and happy future together. August 6, 2023 | Proposal - Lower Manhattan 2 years, 2 months, and 20 days after they matched on Hinge, they were engaged! We all knew it was happening, and even so, it was an exciting time. David's family had a large reunion in New York, and as Brooke's family mostly lives in New Hampshire, they decided to piggy back trips to both areas so they could finally meet all of each other's relatives. It was Brooke's first time in NYC, and it is sure to be remembered. They had an incredible day exploring, starting with Afternoon Tea at The Plaza Hotel, Brooke's one and only requirement for being on this trip. They then walked the high line and had a relaxing afternoon. Brooke had suspicions that David might propose and was on high alert all day. However, the more the day went on, the more she doubted herself. After an amazing dinner at Le Cou Cou, David finally popped the question while drinking wine on their private hotel balcony overlooking the city skyline.
