Ceremony and Reception Details

Ceremony Details An Armenian wedding ceremony involves the Rite of Crowning. During the Rite, the priest places crowns on the bride and groom, symbolizing their new union. The Best Man, or the "Kavor" (in Armenian) stands with the couple and holds the cross, and vows to guide their union. The couple will then drink wine from a single cup, to symbolize their new shared life. The ceremony lasts about an hour and includes prayer and scripture reading.
