With the both us living in Royal Oak, we found ourselves running into each other from time to time. There was one day in particular that I will never forget. It was the summer of 2018 and I was eating brunch at the Morrie. I remember seeing this absolutely beautiful woman sitting one table away from me. I could not keep my eyes off of her. Come to find out, this beautiful woman and I had a mutual friend. Nothing really came of that day. Just a smile and a friendly hello. Fast forward to a few months later, we ran into each other again. This time we actually had the chance to talk. That night would change my life forever.
It was just the two of us together in our favorite place, the dining room. Charles had made an amazing dinner. With it being a holiday weekend, our neighbors had company over (which was perfect since Charles needed a distraction). He kept saying that something was going on across the street causing me to get up from the table. When I got to the window, there was nothing. As soon as I turned around, he was on one knee. He couldn't even get the question out before I was overjoyed with tears and happiness. Shortly after, Charles flooded the kitchen...You will have to ask us more details on that. The moment was so intimate and special. It is something I will hold onto forever.
