A friend and I were exploring a dating website. I wasn’t really looking to date but I was curious, so I joined in. When I was typing in my radius, I must have searched too far because I ended up with people in Connecticut on my search (I don’t have the best sense of direction clearly) I had a bar of “people you would like to meet” and I saw this girl with glasses and a bowtie, she was so dapper. I proceeded to go to her page and loved her profile, it was so adventurous, and I loved how she was creative just like me. I sent her a nice little message, introducing myself and telling her I liked her profile. After a few days of not getting a response I went back to send a second message. It wasn’t really like me to “chase” but something was intriguing, so I had to try again. About a week later I get a notification that “djcrazyhype has sent you a message”. We began chatting, back and forth over a period of a day or so before I gave her my number and told her to call me. That night we talked for hours, as if we knew each other forever. We had decided we liked each other enough to meet. This is where it got tricky. I lived in Providence and she lived in Hartford, about 1 hour and half away. We were complete strangers so it was kind of creepy, but we decided on a general, half way, public place to meet, Foxwoods. When I arrived at Foxwoods, I was so nervous. My palms were sweaty, and I didn’t know what to expect. I had met some weirdos online but something about her felt normal. I found a bench near the rainmaker, sat down and crossed my legs. I was sitting for about 15 minutes waiting for her to come when she finally arrived and we both smiled from ear to ear, it was like we had known each other forever. We had dinner, went to the arcade (where I beat her in Connect Four, twice) and then we went to high rollers to bowl. It was a great night and we had so much fun. She drove me to my car, we kissed and then we talked all the ride home. The rest was history.

Dating online wasn’t working to well for me. I had several accounts, but no one caught my eye. My friend checked out my account and completely changed my bio, she told me I wasn’t going to get the girl I wanted from the bio I had. Still having little hope, I didn’t check my account until 2 weeks after she changed it for me. I had received one message from “accordingtosammieee”, intrigued by the profile picture I clicked it. I noticed she messaged me several times, first thing that came to mind is, nah this girl must be crazy. Good looking and persistent, what’s the catch? Thankfully, not following my gut I replied with “what’s up”? I told her I wasn’t good with checking my dating websites and asked for her number. The connection/vibe was instant. We talked every day for a week straight which lead us with meeting each other at, Foxwoods. With watching too much Law & Order SVU I was a bit hesitant with meeting her, so I purposely arrived late to see her before she saw me, just to make sure she wasn’t a creep in person. I saw her with her legs crossed and proceeded to approach her. I sat down on the bench next to her in front of the rain maker and introducing myself. Instantly, my heart dropped when I saw her smile. All I could think of was how beautiful she was. We had dinner, then went to the arcade. I beat her a couple of times in some games and let her beat me in a few others. Lastly, we went bowling we had the whole ally to ourselves. I drove her to her car, we kissed then we talked the whole ride home. One year later after the distance I wanted to be with her every day. So she decided to make the move and came to Connecticut, the rest was history.
