True Love

Vincent was stationed in South Korea - serving in the United States Army, and Ta-Leah was working as an English teacher in different institutions around the Republic of Korea. Hailing from Columbus, Ohio and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, only 300 miles apart, it took 6,000 miles, an ocean, and 2 continents for true love to be found.

How we met 10.31.2010 Vincent and Ta-Leah had noticed each other on the social circuit in Korea for weeks - but neither could muster up the courage to approach the other. That all ended when Ta-Leah approached Vincent during a Halloween party. From that moment on, the two were inseperable. Ayumi Smithers 9.8.2016 After months of trying, Ta-Leah discovered she was pregnant on 12/15/2015. Approximately 40 weeks later, Ayumi Samiyah Marfrandora Earth Smithers entered the world at 6 pounds and 11 ounces. Vincent became a father for the third time (Shar'ah Smithers, Malik Jarrett) and Ta-Leah had the joy of experiencing biological motherhood for the first. Their lives became complete. After making breakfast for Ta-Leah, sending the baby away for the day with her grandparents, and just enjoying the day together, Vincent took Ta-Leah to the movie theatre to see Black Panther (#wakandaforeva). After the movies, they went to Ocean Club where Vincent worked the restaurant to have a "Will you marry me" message inscribed on a dessert plate. He got on one knee and had a photographer capture the very special moment.
