Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Both the church and The Watermark have ample, free parking for all of our guests. We want all our guests to have a wonderful time partying with us and make it home safely. If you would like to leave your car overnight at either location, we kindly ask that you let a staff member know and collect your vehicle before 9AM the next morning.

Question

What can I expect in a Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony?

Answer

The Greek Orthodox faith is steeped in tradition. The marriage service in the Orthodox Church is divided into two parts: The Rite of Betrothal and the Rite of Crowning. Both rites are filled with images and references from the Old and New Testaments. The service usually lasts 45-60 minutes. Please visit this link for a brief article describing what to expect: https://www.goarch.org/-/crown-them-with-glory-and-honor-marriage-in-the-orthodox-church?fbclid=IwAR2ATxopALhoRDpihtNav9nyFdipXy6IEStzunMkM-EbCWbgvhojSCdBruc

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The Greek Orthodox Church encourages congregants to dress as if they are visiting the house of the Lord. "Semi formal" attire is encouraged.

Question

Will there be Greek dancing?

Answer

Yes! If you’d like, you can check out this short YouTube video for a basic how-to before the wedding, otherwise we say just hold hands with the people next to you, smile and have a great time! https://youtu.be/6KiZDFcW4uI
