We me at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute (one mile away from where we're getting married!) during Boston University Marching Band Camp. We didn't interact all that much during that year's camp since Avery played percussion and Krista played mellophone, but Avery did really like Krista's Phantom Regiment shirt.

Our first "date" was during Spring Break our junior year of college. Krista invited Avery to her apartment to hang out, and Krista made cookies while we watched The Mummy. We actually didn't think of this as a date at the time, but we now view it as the start of our relationship. Our first official date was a few weeks later.

We were visiting Krista's family in Ohio for Christmas. The day after Christmas, we decided to get out of the house after being snowed in for a few days. Avery wanted to "get some nice pictures with the Christmas tree" that the city puts up, and while Krista's sister was taking pictures, Avery proposed. All of Krista's family was in on it, and had been since we went on vacation in July!
