Even though our parents enrolled us at the same elementary school, we did not officially meet until our junior year of high school. Cody was a flirt, and joked entirely too much. I was a sucker for his childish grin, and was the ONLY reason he passed Mrs. Grant's English Class. From stealing my breakfast on the bus, to stealing my heart, here we are today as young adults, more in love today, then we were back then. #IGotTheBoy&TheMan #SeptemberThird2017
It started out as an ordinary, October day, (the fifteenth to be exact) in 2015. Cody was going to his Papa's house, after he got off work, and My Mom and sister were visiting with me. Cody came home, as they were about to leave. We talked for a little bit, and he was in a great mood. When they left, Cody walked to the back of the house, (I assumed to take a shower) so I started washing the dishes. So there I was, with water splashing on the front of my t-shirt. Nothing at all out of the ordinary. Until, I heard the floor creak behind me. I thought he was going to scare the daylights out of me (as usual), but not this time. He was on his knee, and smiling a smile I had never seen before, and one I will never forget. He never even had the chance to open the box, (I hadn't even looked at the ring!) and I had already gotten the words "of course" out with salty tears streaming down my face. The joy of that day, will never be forgotten.
