We met in high school through a close mutual friend during our school's annual musical production. We became good friends after that, and even ended up on the same Spring Break trip to Mexico in 2014! We lost touch during the early college years, but later reconnected at a brunch in 2018, and discovered that we were both single. We started spending more time together, and soon became attached at the hip. We quickly discovered that this was more than just friendship, and the rest is history!

We decided to take our third trip to San Diego to visit Zach's best friend, Brandon. One night, we went out to eat at a nice Italian restaurant and then drove to watch the sun set at the "Sunset Cliffs". As we were taking pictures, Brandon (as part of his and Zach's plan) said, "Look, there are whales out there!" Of course, Lauren turned to look at the ocean, and as she turned back around, Zach was on his knee proposing! To top it all off, Brandon asked a friend to fly a drone over us to capture the moment on video while it was happening (which was a surprise to Zach as well). We ended the night with popping champagne and having a bonfire on the beach. It was absolutely perfect!
