Matt and I both attended Heidelberg University in Tiffin, OH to obtain our undergraduate degrees. Matt was a collegiate wrestler, and myself a collegiate volleyball player. Of note, the Berg is an extremely small school and with that has only one dining hall. Within this dining hall, the athletes on campus had relatively designated seating areas, and as fate would have it- the wrestling tables were adjacent to the volleyball tables. Therefore, it was in the famous Hoernemann dining hall that Matt and I first noticed one another. All it took was a few other meetings at small house parties to spark the connection. One particularly eventful evening, Matt lost a bet to me involving a great deal of goldfish and had to take me out on our first date (how romantic). I'd like to think he fell in love with my charming personality immediately, and the rest is history.

Some day/month in 2013 — We first met in college at Heidelberg University. Karlie was a freshman, and Matt a sophomore. November of 2014 — We started dating, of course while still attending Heidelberg University- a small school in a small town that will always hold a special place in our hearts. August of 2017 — We moved from Ohio to Roanoke, Virginia where we made some amazing friends & memories, put down some roots, and eventually made this new place our home. November of 2018 — We picked up our pug, Reginald, for the first time and welcomed him to the family. December of 2020 — We got engaged at a spot along the Blue Ridge Parkway at sunset, with a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance as the sun sank beneath them. May of 2022 — Amongst the people that love us & that we love the most, we’ll finally get married. :)
