How Zack proposed in Central Park beneath a willow tree

The morning of the proposal, Megan & Zack woke up in our Koreatown AirBnb & grabbed breakfast at Cascade Cafe 4 blocks south of Columbus Circle. As they entered Central Park, they stumbled upon the Columbia Native American Council for their 13th Annual Pow Wow. At first, they simply watched, then they began to dance and sway with the music. They moseyed around the crowd, and even picked out matching rings to commemorate the trip. As they continued further north into the park, Zack enjoyed seeing Megan so clearly in her element as she directed his attention to a new something every few seconds. They paused once to gawk at the sand volleyball courts and then again to ponder the lives of the sunbathers enjoying this uniquely warm Saturday. They passed under the Greywacke Arch, appreciating the momentary respite from the sun. Megan felt in their few days in the city, they'd already seen every classic New Yorker she could imagine. After a shirtless dad pushing a baby stroller flew past them, she determined now they definitely have. As they neared the center of the park, Zack was doing his best to inconspicuously lead Megan to the Belvedere Castle. For the past few weeks, he had researched the best spots to propose in the city; the castle being high on the list. Though he had no intention of proposing there, he determined it would be the best vantage point to scout the perfect location. Around 3pm, they were just nearly to the castle. Megan, thinking they had spent the day doing the things she wanted to do, suggested now would be the perfect time to tackle one of Zack's bucket list items: to tour the Museum of Natural History. Not wanting to give up his hand, Zack agreed with only a slight hesitation. They would only have two hours to enjoy the museum before it closed, but more importantly, he was concerned about the sun setting and ruining his plans. The couple utilized every minute of the remaining open hours of the museum, and at 5:30pm, they were ushered out of the museum and followed the crowd of a dozen or so other patrons forming a line in front of an ice cream stand. One ice cream cone and a coffee later, and Zack decided if he had any real chance of getting Megan to the castle before dark, he'd have to tell her where he'd like to go next.
