Yep! We had a very small ceremony on September 25th, 2023. We snuck onto Indiana University's campus with some family members and a couple buddies, stopped at a gazebo we walk to frequently, and Justin's brother, Taylor, officiated. Have you heard of a stay-cation? Well, this was a stay-lopement. We wanted to say our "I dos" as soon as we could! But also wanted to make sure we could celebrate with our loved ones when we had more time to do some planning. And, well, that's where you come in.
This relationship started from an algorithm. AKA we met on Bumble. We planned to meet for drinks and live music at the Bluebird on a Saturday and couldn't wait, so we met the Wednesday before. We started at Hopscotch, closed that down, went to Cardinal, and closed that down, too. Our first date was five hours long. Our second date was Friday, then we had the *planned* first date (the one on Saturday) and have pretty much spent every day together since!
If a bonfire and an open mic night had a baby, it might be this. Expect casual time listening to friends make music, some snacks and drinks, and a warm fire pit (if weather allows). We will have some time to enjoy vows and words from loved ones (feel free to make a toast!). Short and sweet and then time to relax. Bring a chair and maybe food/drink and an instrument if you want!
So nice of you to ask! Really, we appreciate it. But no pressure at all. We would just love to spend the evening with you. If you do want to do something for us, you can check out the registry. Full disclosure, it is mostly just helping us save money to go on a honeymoon and feed our massive dog.
