No. US dollars are accepted in Curacao (cash, credit/debit). We recommend to have some cash for beaches. Some beaches charge a small entrance fee, and all beaches charge $3.00 -$5.00 for a chair. $1.00 US dollar = 1.8 ang
YES!!! To get around Curacao you need a vehicle. There are taxis, but they are quite costly and not very reliable. A car rental starts around $40.00 - $45.00/day with no other extra costs. Book through https://bookingcarscurcao.com and add in the notes section when checking out, write "Derek Grayson Searl and Kenya wedding party (15% discount code)". Your card will be charged at the full rate then the discount will be reimbursed back to your card closer to the wedding. Driving there is very easy, and they drive on the same side of the road. You do need to lookout for large speed bumps on a few roads, and maybe a wild donkey! Local drivers were courteous, and often beep to say thanks. However, they have a lead foot. Speeds do not get very high, and are all two lane roads without highways.
Curacao is 85+ degrees and sunny with a breeze. It"s hot!!! - Reef safe suncreen and lots of it - A snorkel set is HIGHLY recommended. You can rent them on the island, but it is worth it to purchase your own. The snorkeling is amazing at every beach on the island! Fins are very important for swimming above the coral to help you stay above water and explore deeper waters. Keep in mind to try and get shorter fins for traveling. They sell decent quality travel sets on Amazon for $30-$50. I've read having fog cleaner for your goggles can be very helpful with certain pair that have issues. -
No. We do not want any gifts whatsoever. Having all of our closest friends and family make the trip and coming to celebrate is all we want.
