Tucked in an alley way is the home of our engagement shoot, Blue Post Billiards, which boasts an assortment of funtivities while maintaining the dingy yet oddly charming feel of a pub. Skeeball, fooseball, air hockey, and darts all have their place within these walls. For those of us who prefer to battle computers, Blue Post also plays host to several cabinet games, such as Mortal Kombat and Big Buck Hunter. DISCLAIMER: If you come across Brett in this bar, he will beat you in fooseball. Come across Kendall-she’ll probably be turning Al Green on the Jukebox.
What Satellite lacks in games, it more than makes up for in comfort and space. Couches, bar stools, picnic tables, rocking chairs, and enough room to stretch out always made this one of our go to spots. With the restaurant Blocktaco attached, you can cure your hunger and thirst in one spot. If you’re planning on sticking around through Sunday night, come in to catch bluegrass night and be amazed at how small and tight this bar can suddenly feel. This has become a very popular event, and is where Kendall (and Maslow) once met Melissa McCarthy!
There are dive bars, then there is the Goat-THE dive bar. The post-graduation watering hole, as it was legitimately in Brett’s backyard. The inside is small and quasi-dirty, but also littered with memories of younger days. Maslow and Chuzzlewitz frequently visited this bar as puppies and would agree if you’re missing your pups, this and Satellite could be a place to get your dog fix.
If sitting around drinking isn't how you'd like to spend your days, Wilmington has plenty of cute shops and restaurants to offer. For starters, wander down to the charming Cotton Exchange, a series of historic buildings that have been converted to shops and restaurants. There's also no shortage of shops along Market Street, and if you go up to Water Street you can enjoy a walk along the river.
