I was sitting on the dock watching my group of 5 year olds swim, then Joseph Patrick Schuh came and sat next to me. We had a spectacular conversation. I couldn't tell you every single thing we talked about, but I left feeling fulfilled and strangely complete. Ironically, I remember thinking, "Whoever ends up with this guy is so lucky." Weeks of flirting and butterflies went by, and along came the Austin trip. Our friends planned a trip to Austin for 4th of July weekend. Joe and I rode together with butterflies in our stomachs, but still managed to feel relaxed and have a blast in the car. Fast forward to 4th of July the next day... the sun was setting over Downtown Austin, and we were walking towards Ladybird Lake to get a good view of the fireworks. Before we could find a spot the firework show began, and we stopped in what ended up being our perfect place. Joe put his arms around me, kissed my cheek, and squeezed me tight, all while my heart was pounding. He turned me around, looked me in the eyes, and kissed me for the first time under the booming fireworks. My last first kiss truly felt like it was out of a Disney movie, and we've been going strong ever since. The rest of the summer was full of so many firsts, adventures, and good times. Our love was on fire, spreading rapidly and engulfing everything in its path. Our fire has never dimmed or dwindled. To this day it keeps on growing. I am so lucky and proud to have this man as my partner. He colors the white, lights my soul on fire, and moves mountains. Joe Schuh, I can't wait to be your wife!
