Some love stories are written in the stars, ours was written in crayon. Our story began at SYC in uptown Lenoir where we were enrolled in the same pre-school class (thanks mom!). We shared a sweet class with some friends who are still in our lives today. We then traveled to the same elementary school where in the 3rd grade, we had a pretend wedding on the playground. Although the moment was sweet, we lost touch after high school as our paths took us in two different directions. Until one fine day, in 2021, Ben sparked up a conversation after seeing me at my grandmother’s house on Mother's Day. The playful exchange of words turned into Ben taking me on our first date to his favorite place...the golf course! After spending the next month together, Ben had to return to Wilmington for work. After a few tears and a heartfelt email, we decided to do this thing...long distance. We spent the next four months growing through letters, phone calls, and one weekend visit. It is true what they say, absence makes the heart go fonder! This theme would follow us the next few years as God guided us each on our own path. We walked through challenges that shaped us individually but prepared us fully for our future. One thing remained true during this time and that is that God was faithful to fulfill his promise of restoration. In 2024, our love story got a new beginning. We would spend the next year and a half building with each other. Ben would move back to Hickory and begin planting roots and making plans for a diamond ring. We spent weekends going to our favorite places and making memories with Georgia. The two become best friends and share the love of pizza, Tweetsie railroad, and "Maggie" our Doberman. He showed up to every T-ball game, school awards days, and taught her game of golf. She finally has someone she calls, "Dad". Life is sweet. But life gets sweeter... On March 29th, 2025, we shared our first date, Ben asked me to be his wife on hole #13. Turns, out third grade Morgan and Ben knew a thing or two...
