We met on a ski lift at Sunday River while attending the same boarding school in Bath, ME during the winter of 2015. There was an immediate, inexplicable pull between us, and we quickly found ourselves in the same social circles as spring approached. Our friendship deepened and we officially became a couple on April 11, 2015. We spent the summer between junior and senior year visiting each other’s hometowns, sharing our favorite places and introducing one another to our family and friends. After graduation, Molly took a gap year to reconnect with herself, while James began his freshman year at Providence College. Though long distance came with its challenges, we stayed close and made the most of our time together, building new memories along the way. In the fall of 2017, Molly began her studies at Lasell University, just a train ride away from James. We embraced our independence while still growing alongside each other, making the most of weekend visits. In the spring of 2021, we both graduated. James began a career in recruiting, and Molly in hospitality. Soon after, we moved into our first apartment together in Andover, MA. We still call Andover home and are grateful for the community we’ve built here.
On Christmas Eve, James planned a day straight from a storybook: brunch at the Inn at Hastings Park, skating at Frog Pond, and a quiet winter stroll through the Boston Public Garden. As snow dusted the cobblestones, he led Molly to the footbridge and asked her to spend forever by his side. Now, eleven years since it all began, we can’t wait to gather the people we love to celebrate the next chapter of our story; one written with laughter, adventure, and a love that has always felt meant to be.
