Welcome!

Welcome to our wedding website! We can't wait to celebrate with you!

How They Met

As many new-age love stories often begin, Louis & Kayla's story is no different- a mutual swipe right. They initially matched on bumble over things in common including growing up on the eastside of Seattle, mutual outdoor hobbies and a few people they were both connected with. After sparse conversation texting over a few days and realizing they had even more in common, they decided to meet in person at a fun tiki cocktail bar in Fremont. Meeting for the first time, the spark was undeniable. One drink turned into two, which turned into several hours of conversation. Time flew by as they chatted the night away.

Following a few more fun dates around Seattle, the spark turned into a bright flame. He instantly fell in love with her adventurous nature, her radiant beauty inside and out, and her outgoing yet calm, kind-hearted demeanor. She was falling in love with his fun and easy-going energy, his charm and outgoing personality and his ability to make her laugh no matter what they were doing.  One summer weekend, after 5 days of no cell service while she was on a backpacking trip in The Enchantments, he simply couldn't take it anymore. As soon as she got back, he asked her to make it official and she said (the first) yes! The next three or so years would be filled with all kinds of adventures traveling locally, internationally and domestically doing all the things they loved - enjoying the sun and the beach, skiing, hiking or backpacking in the mountains, and eventually moving in together to enjoy endless lake days. They both knew early on that they had something very special.

The Engagement

They were headed to their annual ski trip that that they have made a tradition at the end of each year. For the end of 2023 it was Nelson BC, Canada, one of their favorite places, a laid back ski town tucked in the Selkirk Mountains. Their trip plans included lots of skiing, playing uno, and relaxing while enjoying each other’s company.  After an awesome day on the slopes, he led her to a spot he had been scoping in downtown Nelson under the holiday lights, where they serendipitously had the whole main street to themselves. He proceeded to fumble everything he had been planning to say while she obliviously tried to figure out why he was acting so funny. After laughing, he got down on one knee, pulled the ring out and asked her to marry him! She was so stunned by the question and the ring that it took her a few beats to respond as she processed what was happening. She said Yes! in the most excited way he'd ever seen her, and they sat on a park bench downtown soaking up the moment together. They proceeded to have the perfect evening and kicked off the new year celebrating together, starting off 2024 engaged and excited for all that's to come. -By Louis (with excerpts from Kayla)
