This used to be the busiest airport in the US. Now, it's a stunning tribute to the titans of aerospace that called Wichita home.
One of the coolest museums in town. Every time I go, I see and learn something new.
If you love zoo's then this is a MUST SEE!! This place is absolutely massive, with something for everyone. They have everything from turtles to elephants and so so much more! We cannot recommend this enough to all our guests coming in a few days early or staying a few days late.
This is a must stop place for anyone with a major sweet tooth!! Every time we travel, we bring gifts from Nifty.
At first glance, it's a coffee shop. But it's so much more than that. The mother of the bride and groom cannot get enough of their fancy chocolates nor their macarons. Stop in and buy yourself a few!
This is only open on Saturdays, but if you're looking for something to fill the morning hours before the wedding and do some shopping with local vendors, this is the place to be. The vendors change weekly, but I always recommend Renata's Plant Bus, Argentina's Empanada's, and Yarniculture.
This is the ultimate tchotchke shop. Stop in for postcards, art, stickers, and a collection of locally made items. Need a little *adult* beverage, go to the bubble bar! It's a nice place to spend an afternoon.
If you're a book lover you will love this place. It's a warm hug of a place with an incredible selection of books for any and all interests.
If you love romance novels, all things girly, and shopping small businesses this is the place for you!
My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It has very limited hours and once they're out of food for the day, they close. And they do run out. In my opinion, the best BBQ in Wichita.
If you can't get into Station 8 because of the hours, this is our next recommendation. You can never go wrong with their menu and everything is incredible. You can't leave Kansas without trying some BBQ.
If you only had one day in Wichita and only got to try one place off this list, then make it Tanya's. They're lunch only, open 11-3 daily with a rotating soup menu and a host of incredible sandwiches and salads. By far the bride's favorite place to eat in town.
This place is a local staple. It's 21+ but the martinis are poured strong and there's seemingly infinite flavor possibilities.
This is a regular spot for us. Stop in early for coffee, pastries, breakfast pizza, and sandwiches or stop in later in the day for cocktails, pizza, and snacks. It's a definite favorite and we also recommend trying whatever their seasonal espresso martini is if that's your fancy.
This is our favorite spot for dinner. The fried pickles are killer and we've never had a bad meal. It's brewery food, but always delish!
