How We Met

Love at the Dunes

It was early 2020 when Hannah went scrolling through Instagram, hoping to find someone that looked like her type. She stumbled upon a public profile for Travis Rupert and took a look at his photos. It was to her pleasant surprise to find photos of diesel trucks, mechanic shops, side-by-sides, dunes trips, and cowboy boots. All things that were on her mental checklist for a husband. It helped that he had blue eyes and a nice smile too! She made the first move by "liking" a photo of a Can-Am posted to his story. It wasn't long until he "liked" a photo back and DM'd her to invite her on a desert ride. She excitedly made the drive to Mesa where the two met for the first time. The new relationship unfortunately did not develop into anything further and the two went their separate ways. Fast forward to January 2023... Travis felt the urge to reach out to Hannah to give their connection another try. This time, he texted her with an invite to a weekend at the dunes. The text started with, "This might be a long shot..." After confirming the text came from Travis Rupert, Hannah enthusiastically accepted. She remembered that Travis was a great guy and she had been wanting an opportunity for a dunes trip. Uncertain of his intentions for the invite though, Hannah convinced herself they would just have a fun and friendly weekend. Little did she know, Travis went into the weekend knowing this was his chance to win her over forever. The weekend was a fun one. Travis was his usual social self while Hannah was a bit more reserved being around new people. One night, Travis seized the opportunity to express his feelings and the two shared a kiss by the campfire. Their chemistry was rapidly blooming and neither of them could deny that fact. Hannah had heard before... "If you really want to know how well you get along with someone, take a road trip with them." Well... the three-hour ride home was nothing but more fun and laughs. They listened to Hannah's music playlists, talked about Zodiac signs, and were in awe over a flock of birds that appeared to shapeshift in the air in front of them. When they were nearing Travis's home in Mesa, Hannah didn't want the drive to end. She realized how comfortable she felt with Travis and knew she couldn't pass on the opportunity to explore their chemistry further. Travis and Hannah's relationship developed quickly as the couple shared a love for fun and adventure. They didn't waste any time introducing each other to friends and family and partaking in every activity together they could. They both valued family and wanted marriage and children in the future. They committed themselves together in May of 2024 through their engagement and welcomed their little girl, Carter Lee Rupert, into the world shortly after. Travis and Hannah are excited to unite their souls formally, legally, and under God's sacred covenant. They consider themselves blessed to have found each other and thankful for the second chance they had. They look forward to sharing their special day in Cottonwood with their friends and family who have supported their relationship along the way.
