Once upon a time a boy named Aaron moved to a tiny village in Hiram, OH. Aaron had just left his family and friends a few hours away in Buffalo, NY to take on his newest challenge to be a full time D3 football coach. Aaron quickly learned that the little village didnt have much to offer. The town consisted of one stop light and the closet gas station was in the town next over. Aaron knew he wanted to make the most of the opportunity and wanted to meet new people. Well, he did just that. Aaron realized things were rapidly going to change in his life when a bubbly, stubborn, and outspoken Ohioan known as Lindsey swiped right on this little dating app known as; Bumble. Once the two began chatting, they both knew this could be something real and began to make arrangements to meet. The two planned a date on a day and time that worked for the both of them, but naturally Lindsey had a sponteous idea. While she was visiting friends who lived right outside of Hiram she decided to offer an adventure to Aaron for a late night trip to target. Aaron excitedly accepted the offer, even after a long day of traveling back to Hiram as it brought the 2018 football season to an end. The two enjoyed the evening standing and smelling candles in the aisle of target, up until the closing annoucement roared over the speakers. Aaron always has said: “I knew there was something special about a girl who could take a trip to target for q-tips and make it into one of the best nights of my life just had to have something special about her” …and the rest is in the making ♥️
Our proposal takes some twists and turns along the way so you’ll have to stay with me here. I had the whole thing planned for the end of October but the ring didn’t make it back to me in time. The one thing you should know about Lindsey is that her life is planned out in her “bible”. I knew that we had pictures planned for the weekend around our anniversary. So i set my plan in motion. First stop was to pick up the ring and have a talk with her dad. Hiding the ring when she was working from home was a challenge! I had a whole plan for us to celebrate our anniversary. We had pictures in the morning, zoo lights in Cleveland, and a nice dinner. Getting dressed for pictures, I put the ring in my pocket and waited for the right time. We made it through pictures at our house and were heading to the park for some outside shots. Lindsey’s sister Lauren asked me if I was going to propose and I had to lie and say no. I went back to the hiding spot and put the ring back. I wanted to surprise everone when i proposed. I wish we got pictures of the proposal but the way i did it was more my style. We headed to the gorge where we had our first real date. It wasn’t the best place to be during freezing rain and snow. I knew this was my opportunity to propose and enjoy the moment with just the two of us. We were freezing and i could tell Lindsey wanted to head back to the car. So, i let her walk ahead of me and go up the stairs. Once we reached the top. I grabbed her, turned her around, and got on one knee. I’m pretty sure i said something but all i could hear was Lindsey screaming. I think we both blacked out for a few minutes there. She said yes! We saw her mom and told our families on our way to zoo lights. I made her promise me that we would enjoy the zoo before we told the rest of our friends. We’re really glad we took that moment for ourselves before our phones really blew up. We were excited to share with everyone the biggest moment of our lives!
