We were accidental next door neighbors in college (he was supposed to be in a completely different building) and the girls and I were trying to decorate our rooms but didn't have a hammer. We knew that boys lived next door so we sent a girl over to ask if we could borrow a hammer. As fortune would have it, Anthony answered the door and graciously let us borrow his hammer for the day. What stuck with me the most was that he made eye contact and didn't stare at his feet. I later found out that he was also in my best friend and roommate's class (again, something he wasn't supposed to be in) and to take it one step further, he ended up in her small group for a project. And that's how I got his number. If there is a world record for the most amount of winky-face emoji's a person can send in one text, we would have broken that record 10 times over. We flirted over text for a few weeks before he invited me to a tailgate with his friends. I knew I had finally made it when I was given a beer selection to choose from and when I had made my choice, Blake said "She's a keeper!" We continued to date after Anthony graduated and moved back to South Florida, only seeing each other once a month over a weekend. It stayed like that for 3 years until he moved to Tampa in 2018. Very quickly, we realized that our one-bedroom apartment was not going to make us happy in the long run so we started saving for a house. We began searching in earnest in July of 2019, finally finding "the one" in November. Anthony then set up the most elaborate proposal ever, making me think that we were closing on a Saturday (anyone who has ever closed on a house before knows that doesn't happen) and then going to a celebratory lunch at one of my favorite restaurants. Little did I know, he had both sets of parents hiding in the bedroom while I looked through some paperwork. Once I had finished looking through all the papers, I turned around and he was down on one knee. Which brings us to our special day!
