Sam and I believe we are a prime example of how the unlikeliest of friends can start a life-long commitment to each other. After several years of being loosely acquainted through mutual friends, Sam began to see me in an unforeseen light (considering we hadn’t shown interest in each other during years prior). Before I could recognize my own affections for Sam growing, we were meeting each other's families and spending holidays together. Our story officially started in a bookstore poetry section we both unexpectedly happened upon, where the two of us established a common interest in romance-style poetry. Yes… Sam is a romantic. Later that evening, I noticed the book we both looked over had been tucked away (with the help of a few friends) into my belongings. It was that night that I remember totally falling for Sam. Almost three years have passed since that date, and I thank the Lord every day for bringing us together. By the grace of God, we both became believers during our friendship and got baptized together shortly after our engagement in April.
Although we have only been engaged for a few short months, this day has been in the making for years. I am reminded often of how Sam knew from the beginning of our relationship that he would marry me, and I am so thankful for his patient determination to get us here. Now, our wedding is finally approaching, and we are beyond excited to have our friends and family join us for this celebration!
