Matt and Shelley met in May 2009. Matt shivered while insisting Shelley wear his hoodie at a varsity rugby match, numbers were exchanged. After a bit of cheeky banter, a meet up at Barneys was arranged. Although the details of their first kiss are still to be debated, Matt was completely smitten and put in the hard yards by driving from his campus 80km away a few times a week to visit Shelley. Their romance ended a few months later but they crossed paths through mutual friends as the years passed by. A whole 9 years later in 2018 Matt and Shelley began chatting again after Matt had been to Shelley for a haircut and they picked up where they left off. It sure has been a journey on a gravel road but Matt decided in December 2019 that enough time had been wasted. He proposed to Shelley on the bank of the Kowie River while they were on a booze cruise with family and friends. Their forever is to follow. Shelley can't wait to become Mrs Roux.
