We are getting married!

Matt and Sydney first crossed paths in 2015 at Anoka-Ramsey Community College—Matt was a pitcher on the baseball team, and Sydney was the team manager. After a few months of playful flirting across the diamond, they made it official and never looked back. As life moved forward, so did they—Sydney continued her studies at the University of Minnesota, while Matt went on to play baseball at Hamline University. Even with busy schedules, they made time for each other, building a strong foundation that led to them moving in together in the summer of 2017. Since then, they’ve built a cozy life together in Elk River, where they now live with their two beloved border collies, Surly and Murphy—both from the Thull family farm. Their life is full of the things they love most: brewery hopping, camping trips, music festivals with friends, and most often, cozy nights at home binge-watching shows or diving down YouTube rabbit holes together. Duluth holds a special place in their hearts, so it’s only fitting that it’s where they’ll say “I do.” They’re so excited to bring their favorite people together to celebrate love, nature, and a few surprise moments—so you can live like a Rotzien for a weekend!
