We met on Theron’s 19th birthday. A mutual friend posted him for his birthday so I decided to tell him happy birthday as well… We had actually met a few times prior to this. He worked at the local supply store and mixed paint for my bedroom when I was 13. Then at 15 he was my waiter at a popular restaurant down town. Then we met (genuinely this time), when I was 16 and he took me to the middle of nowhere to go stargazing. My mom has since told me that was not a great idea, but I think it turned out quite alright.

We closed on our first home together 10/1/2022. We had lived together for about a year and a half prior to this in our apartment. But buying your first real home with your favorite person is a completely different experience. Walking in to our furniture being set up, our photos being hung and placed on counters, our dog and cat so excited to have beautiful windows to look out of. It’s a deep breath of relief. A feeling that we made it, another step forward in our life together.

On 7/30/23, Theron’s mom and sister took me out on a “girl’s day”. We went for sushi, visited several stores, and drove from one end of Charleston all the way to Summerville. We had a great day! I always love getting to hang out with my second family. When we pulled into our driveway at the end of the day, Theron was waiting in a nice button up shirt- one of my personal favorites. He walked me into our backyard where he had decorated with candles, flowers, and a sign that said “Will you marry me?”. It was so surreal I could barely move. I was on the verge of tears by the time I said yes, and the rest is history. It was so special to me that it happened somewhere that means something to us, and not a huge event. The most SHOCKING part of this day however is the fact that Harper (Theron’s little sister) and my mom were both able to keep it a secret!
