One day while scrolling through Facebook, I came across a beautiful woman that I had mutual friends with. After being amazed by her stunning beauty, I wondered why our paths never crossed. I did the normal thing of looking through old pictures and posts on her page, trying not to accidentally like anything from a year ago and come off like a creeper. After watching her socially, I decided to message her. In my first message to her I quoted King Solomon and told her that "many women do noble things but she surpasses them all". She told me I was smooth and I asked if I could meet her in person when she was free. She told me that she was available for dinner that evening. We went out to dinner downtown at her favorite restaurant and she was even more beautiful than all the photos I had scrolled through. We had a lovely first date of swapping stories and relating through our love for God. The restaurant that we had our first date would be the same restaurant I proposed at months later.
It doesn't take all day to recognize sunshine... So I have been dating this woman for 9 months. She is literally everything that I had prayed and believed for. We talked about marriage and our future together. The only thing left to do was to propose... I told her that we have not gone on a date in a long time and I would like to dine at the restaurant we had our first date. As we both have children, we had to figure out our logistics for childcare. After that was set, I drove to the restaurant (during downtown rush hour traffic) to the Amway Grand Hotel. I told the valet that I do not want to park my car and that I just want to go in for a moment to talk to someone. He looked at me like I was weird and said "okay". I went to the host and hostess of the restaurant and explained to them that I want to propose to my girlfriend. I asked if they had someone that can act like they are taking photos of us but actually take a video while I propose. They agreed. I later picked up Tara and we headed downtown to the restaurant. As we walked up to the host and hostess stand, my nerves were going haywire. The hostess is different woman and when I asked if they can take a photo, she jumps at the chance. In my head, I'm wondering where the hostess is that agreed to do it because I explained my proposal plan to her. Nevertheless, we started posing and this hostess is really selling that she is taking photos of us! So much so that I was concerned that she really might be taking photos instead of a video. I dropped down on one knee and proposed. Tara was completely surprised. Mission accomplished! The hostess did actually take a video of the entire proposal. We shared our special moment with others and now the video has over 3,000+ views on social media... We dated for less than one year but it doesn't take the whole day to recognize sunshine.
