Just another Tinder success story! Mathew and Amber managed to both swipe right in December of 2017. Amber thought this was another guy that would never go anywhere, but she was persistent. When he ghosted her, she confronted him. Mat had plenty of excuses but finally took Amber on a date on February 12, 2018. They went to Central Park in Roselle. No, not in NYC (even though thats where they tell people they met lol). For both of them, it was love at first sight. Amber went home and fell to the floor before telling her mom all about him. Mathew deleted his Tinder app. It was all history from there!
Mat and Amber continued to see each other almost everyday since. On Cinco De Mayo, they were both pretty drunk celebrating their favorite holiday. Amber received a call from another guy and against better judgement, answered. Mathew followed her out the door. The guy asked if Amber had a boyfriend now. She said “I dont know, let me ask”, put down the phone and asked Mat if she had a boyfriend. He said “uhhh I hope so”. So Amber hung up and they proceeded to party!
Amber’s parents were moving down the shore, so she new she had to get a place of her own. Mathew and her were together for less than a year, but he suggested they do it together. They moved in together the day after a crazy snow storm and lived there in Edison for two years!
Remember when Amber and Mathew met at Central Park (Roselle, NJ)? Well Mathew planned a beautiful night with a hotel and dinner in NYC. He also had something else up his sleeve. They both got in an Uber and headed for Central Park (this time the actual park). Mathew had Amber running around this park for an hour while her feet were killing her. He was being super weird so Amber knew something was coming (but tried to hide it). After his first attempt failed because there were no lights on in the Gazebo, he managed to find a gorgeous view of an ice skating rink in Central Park and said “Do you love me? Will you love me forever?” After Amber said “yes”, he said “the next part is easy then. Will you marry me?” and he got down on one knee. Amber just kept yelling “no” because she was so nervous. When Mathew finally got the ring on her finger, their friends popped out and snapped a picture. It was a fairytale.
2020 wasn’t easy for anyone, but it was a huge milestone for Amber and Mathew. They booked their wedding venue, got a dog, and bought a house! The home buying process was not easy and they ended up having to rent the house to the sellers for over a month, but it was worth it. They’re loving the shore life and can’t wait for all the summer parties in the pool! As for the puppy, Meatball is simply the best!
