We met pretty much through Craigslist. Alex was the new roommate to my childhood friends in Hoboken. We met in my brothers apartment at the time on Park St., which eventually turned into my first Hoboken apartment. At least a dozen of us went out to the city for Santacon, and I don't think we hung out once all night. I thought he was way too good looking to have a conversation with. Anyway, we ended up getting stuck dancing with each other at my brothers birthday outing a month later. I realized he was actually a really nice, down to earth guy. I remember we kept calling each other "brah" and "ma duude". We quickly became very good friends. Fast forward to May 2013, we finally had our first official date at The Central Park Zoo. It rained, and it was a blast.
Oh the proposal story..... this is a long one I was on a crazy job shooting the NY Lottery / La La Land commercial. Have ya seen it? Yea, it's a night scene, which means it shoots at night. Anyway, my sweetheart and BFF Eleni were planning the engagement for 5/18 (Friday) but we were shooting this commercial Thursday and FRIDAY night. So basically both of them were trying to get me to get a cover on Friday night last minute, which was not possible, since it was a night shoot. Fast forward, I get home on Saturday the 19th at 5A and pass out REAL quick Alex wakes me up at around 11A saying he really wants to do something fun in the city since we haven't really seen each other in a few days. So I get myself "ready" (trying my best to not complain) and we walk outside and...... it's pouring. "It's ok! I have this great umbrella!" says Alex. Meanwhile, the man has never bought an umbrella in his life. He's twirling his umbrella, holding my hand, we eat breakfast before we get on the train.. I suggest golfing at Chelsea Piers, he agrees without hesitation (which was weird) After Alex quickly hits all of the golf balls, we walk over to The Highline and he's rambling about something or another (remember, I am DEAD TIRED at this point) All of a sudden he's down on one knee with my Grandmother's ring and this random lady that was just taking pictures of flowers comes swooping in and takes pictures of us. What a strange feeling Of course I say YES and we walk around and take a few more pictures. The second she leaves I start absolutely sobbing (happy tears) about what just happened :) We uber back to Hoboken and low and behold there are 50 people surprising me including my brother and future sis who flew in from Cali That's the story. SEA you down the ISLE xo
