Built between 1908-1912, Fonthill was the home of Henry Chapman Mercer (1856-1930). Archaeologist, anthropologist, ceramist, scholar and antiquarian. Mercer built Fonthill both as his home and as a showplace for his collection of tiles and prints. Designed by Mercer, the building is an eclectic mix of Medieval, Gothic, and Byzantine architectural styles.
The ceremony will be outdoors. For the reception we have an elegant clear top tent for dinner and dancing, a separate cocktail tent, gorgeous grounds and you have the ability to tour the castle during cocktail hour! Tent will be heated if necessary. There is also a fire pit and separate smoking pit for those who wish to enjoy cigars.
Yes! Guests should park in the designated areas of the parking lot and should enter via the Swamp Road (Rt. 313) entrance. Please note: The Court Street Entrance will be closed off.
Yes, and we will have a golf cart available for anyone needing assistance getting around the property!
Yes! We would love for you to take photos during the reception and throughout the night. However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.
Cocktail attire. Fun colored suits, dresses, outfits are a plus! We only please request you do not wear white (including cream, ivory, floral/print with a white background or base).
Our wedding will be a 21+ celebration to ensure a fun and enjoyable evening for all.
