Our versions of the story may be different, but we can both agree that the Thursday Night $1 beer special at The Plymouth Tavern started our story. Morgan was with her old college teammates having a night out on the town when they ran into the Mercyhurst Football Coaching staff. A mutual friend began introducing everyone. After a few rounds of $1 Dos Equis, Ryan & Morgan began getting to know each other. Ryan learned quickly that even though Morgan was a retired athlete, she still was a strong competitor. Morgan proceeded to tell Ryan she could squat more than him. Ryan, never backing down from a challenge, agreed to have this competition. After they set the time & place of the challenge, they parted ways with their perspective groups. Unfortunately, the squat challenge never happened. Fast forward to football season, Ryan is coaching Defensive Line & Morgan shows up to the first day of practice as the newly appointed football Athletic Trainer. Both Ryan & Morgan were pleasantly surprised to see one another, still joking about the squat challenge that could have been. But all jokes aside, a few weeks later Ryan finally asked Morgan on a date to watch the MLB World Series over dinner & drinks. Little did they know that the San Francisco Giants winning the title in Game 7 would be the grand slam to their timeless love for one another.

The back story….. After living in their townhouse for a few years together, making it through the pandemic, Amelia continue to grow like a weed, and the pup (Kona Boy) getting bigger by the minute, they knew buying a house was the next step for their growing famiy. After many home visits, Morgan and Ryan bought their first house in July of 2020. They loved everything about their new home!! Ryan thought long and hard (He hid the ring for 2 & 1/2 month) on when and where he should propose to Morgan. He always knew he wanted his little family to be involved.After they decorated the house for Christmas, Ryan knew instantly this is where he wanted to do the proposal. In front of the Christmas Tree with Amelia and Kona Boy next to him…. The night it all happened…… It was just a regular scheduled day in their household. Amelia was playing at a friends house, Morgan was at one of her jobs, Kona Boy was being lazy laying around the house and Ryan was getting things done for the week. After picking Amelia up, Ryan told her the plan. They picked Morgan up from work and then as soon as they got home, Amelia told Morgan to wash her hands (Covid Protocol in their house) and then told her not to come into the other room because they were getting set up for a dance they were working on. Of course, Morgan was suspicious and thought the two of them were being weird. They asked her to come over as they were setting up and then popped the question…. “Morgan Grace will you Marry Us…….?” She said YES!
