COVID-19

Due to the recent events regarding COVID-19, and the restrictions that have been put in place in the state of North Carolina, we have made the impossible decision to cancel our wedding for the health and safety of all involved. Our wedding will now take place with immediate family only. This was a very tough decision to make, so we hope you all will understand. We will continue to update our wedding website with details, but we wanted to let you know of this change as soon as possible, so that you have the time to cancel any arrangements you have made. Future plans of a celebration in West Virginia are in the works, and we will notify everyone as soon as we get all of the details squared away. *If you still plan on traveling down during that time, please let us know! Just because we chose to cancel the wedding, doesn't mean we still can't vacation together!* We hope that you stay safe and healthy during this time and we cannot wait to celebrate with everyone (safely) soon!

How we met

Once upon a time at 4th and Goal.

On February 28, 2014, we each went on the Mardi Gras Crawl with groups of our friends in Morgantown. At the first bar I noticed a girl in our group that I had meet several times but really didn't particularly like very much so I tried to avoid her. I was successful until finally we got to 4th and Goal which is possibly the smallest bar in town so I had to say hi. As we started to talk, I noticed Anna sitting at the bar with some other girls so I asked "Who is that?!" She said "That's my friend Anna." To which I replied "I need to talk to her" and immediately walked over and introduced myself. This was obviously a win-win for me as it got me out of an awkward conversation and into my first interaction with my future wife. I don't really remember what we talked about (it was the 5th bar out of 9...) but I just remember thinking that there was something special about her. So as my group of friends was about to leave I asked for her number so I could take her out on a date. She agreed, so I got my phone out and typed it in but when I was about to type in her name I completely blanked. She could see the panic on my face and said "You don't remember my name do you?!" I calmly replied " Yeah I do but this is my work phone and I'd rather put it in my personal phone.." At this point I put the phone in my pocket with the number still on the screen then pulled it back out of my pocket all while leaning over to her friend and asking "What's her name??" To my surprise she actually told me so I started to type it in which surprised the hell out of Anna and she said "You did remember my name!" I replied "I told you I did!" A couple days later my mom and I ordered takeout from Chili's. I went to pick it up and as I walked in the first person I saw was Anna which was a little awkward due to the fact that we didn't expect to see each other before our first date the next day and she was now the one that couldn't remember my name...

The Proposal

September 3, 2018

Friendscation 2018: Anna Maria Island, Florida On the first day of our vacation all of the boys went to the "grocery store" while the girls stayed behind to soak up the sun by the pool. Well... 4 hours later I'm getting a little antsy (we were out of booze at the house). I call Tyler and ask what the hell is taking him so long. Of course, he came up with some excuse and said they'd be home soon. Fast forward to that evening. All the girls were dressed and ready to go. The plan was to go to happy hour before heading to the restaurant for our dinner reservation. The guys "weren't ready" and told us to go on without them. Odd a group of 4 girls could get ready before the dudes, but whatever. Didn't think anything of it. Later they met up with us at dinner for our reservation. We ordered bottles of wine and were finishing up when the guys uber suddenly arrived. (Literally still had half a bottle of wine left) Once again, odd, but I still hadn't caught on to anything up to this point. We finally get our uber when Jon calls and says he needs meds "because his stomach is upset." We make a pit stop- and by pit stop I mean Amanda and Toni were in CVS for like 30 minutes stalling time for the boys. When we FINALLY make it to the house- I'm the first to walk in. There are rose petals and candles all the way up the stairs, into the master bedroom we were staying in, and onto the balcony overlooking the pool and bay. I walk out and Tyler was down on one knee to pop the question! Looking down into the pool he also had a giant ring pool floatie with a question mark, and rose petals covering the entire pool with candles surrounding the edge of the pool! Looking back- everything finally made total sense- between the 4 hour grocery trip & getting stalled at CVS for 30 minutes. I can't believe how oblivious I had been all day!

For all the days along the way
