We met back at the great Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. While Jack played for the football team and I played on the volleyball team, we naturally had a handful of mutual friends. We caught eyes from time to time at church as well. It wasn't until right before my last semester at Texas State that the stars finally aligned and Jack took a leap of faith by sending me a little message on Instagram, and the rest was history! That's right, sliding in the DM's does work sometimes ;)
On the anniversary of our first date, my family decided to take a little vacation to the Central Texas area. I thought "Hmm what a coincidence?" but Jack wasn't tagging along with us, so I had to brush off any suspicion. I thought we'd just celebrate with dinner when we got back home. Little did I know what would be going down the next day. After eating lunch with my family Saturday afternoon, I made my way to Texas State to give my favorite volleyball team a pep talk before they started season, or so I thought. My college coach, Sean Huiet, met me at the door to take me down to the locker room, but before we made it down the hallway he wanted to take me onto the court to see the new Championship Banner, so of course I said yes. As soon as he pulled back the curtain there Jack was, waiting for me on my collegiate home court and where our story began, where he asked me to spend the rest of our lives together! I could barely get out the words, but it was by far the easiest "Yes!" I'd ever said. We are so happy to share our story and can't wait to celebrate our big day with you!
