If you are stopping in San Francisco or traveling direct from SFO Airport, consider taking the scenic route and drive over the Golden Gate Bridge! There are parking lots on either side of the bridge where you can pull over and take pictures.

Sonoma's Plaza is a charming area full of shops, tasting rooms, restaurants and historic landmarks. Consider grabbing breakfast at Sunflower Cafe and be sure to check out The Sonoma Mission. If you are planning on being in the area for July 4th, Sonoma is one of America's best towns for Independence Day. Travel + Leisure has ranked it in the Top 10. Downtown Sonoma is a 20 minute drive from Napa.
Rent bikes and tour Napa Valley on this scenic 12.5 mile flat trail. You can pick up bikes in downtown Napa and end in the cute town of Yountville (or the other way around). The trail is lined with wineries that you can stop at along the way.
