Shelter Island Beaches

Shelter Island Beaches

Menhaden Lane, Shelter Island, NY 11964

We are hoping for an endless summer of great weather, and there is no better way to soak up the Island than by sitting at or walking along the beach and catching some sun. Our favourite beach is Menhaden Lane, where we walk regularly with Suka and collect shells. Other choices are Shell Beach (for seclusion), Wades Beach (for families), and Crescent Beach (for sunsets).

Greenport

Greenport

Greenport, NY 11944

Greenport Village on the North Fork combines historic charm with modern experiences. This scenic waterfront area features 19th-century architecture, bustling marinas, and quaint streets filled with shops, galleries, and a variety of ethnic and seafood restaurants. Highlights include the historic Greenport Carousel at Mitchell Park and local wine tasting. From Shelter Island, you can walk across the North Ferry.

Sag Harbor

Sag Harbor

Sag Harbor, NY 11963

Nestled on the bay in the heart of the Hamptons on the South Fork, Sag Harbor is one of the East End's loveliest villages, and like Grreenport on the North Fork, has a marine port in its main shopping area. Since its days of being a bustling whaling village, visitors have been enchanted with its centuries old streets lined with ancient trees and inviting homes, restaurants, and shops that offer fare from around the corner or around the world. It is a charming town packed with a ton of character, a sense of place, and a down-to-earth vibe. Sag Harbor is where Padraic lived when he first wandered out East.
