Sophomore year of high school, we both happened to transfer to St. Charles as part of the first wave of students. In the hallways we locked eyes occasionally, smiling, both of our socially awkward teenage selves given almost no time to stop and greet each other, until one faithful day we happened to be in the lunch line together. Levi struck conversation, "Hello". The conversation took off from there. We fell into the same friend groups, drama club, overall spending more time together. All of these precious memories made the changes of life more bearable. Life put communications on hold for a while in 2017. Meeting new people, staying in different places, it never fully felt right though. We still wondered how the other was doing. However years later I took a chance and reached out, "Hello". Neither one could have predicted where things would lead to next. Over months of communications, we found ourselves realizing we had shared a lot of the same life goals. As well as reminiscing on the memories we shared. It was through those heartfelt connections that we realized those feelings we harbored were reciprocated. It was always there, and it was relieving to know this after all these years. Levi asked me out right after seeing the Barbie movie with his buddies, and I couldn't have been happier to say yes. Despite the heartache of long distance, as well as uncertainty of where he'd be stationed next, and through our commitment to each other, we endured. We hope you can join us as we celebrate and prepare to face the future together.
