Ivan and Theresa met in February of 2023 at the University of Dayton. Their first date was playing Nintendo switch golf (because neither of them had Wii sports on hand). Ivan grew up playing competitive golf. Theresa grew up playing Wii golf with her dad and brother and knew nothing of the actual sport. Needless to say, Theresa consistently wins their Wii golf battles. Ivan and Theresa quickly figured out how much they liked spending time with each other. Whether it was over Wii golf, UD basketball, Seinfeld, or homework the two never ran out of things to talk about. In May of 2023, Theresa graduated from UD with her bachelor's in chemical engineering and Ivan with his bachelor's in computer engineering. Since graduation the two have enjoyed UD basketball games, Mass at the chapel, and walks around campus.

Ivan proposed on July 20th, 2024 at Mt. Echo Park in Cincinnati. To surprise Theresa, Ivan suggested about a million ideas of what to do for their Cincinnati day trip they had been talking about to make it seem like there was no real plan. After the proposal at Mt. Echo and getting photos taken, Ivan and Theresa went to their favorite restaurant, Northstar cafe.
