Freshmen year physics class is when we first met. Flavio and his family had just moved to the states from Portugal. Flavio did not know anyone really, and joined the soccer team to meet new people. Our first day in physics class I was first introduced to him by one of my friends who also was on the soccer team. We became good friends first before we started dating and over time, grew into a deep loving relationship.

Flavio had a secret night planned for New Year's Eve, I had no idea where or what we were doing for the evening. He took me down to Foxwoods for a fantastic dinner and at the very beginning of dinner, he got down on his knee beside me and proposed. I think he couldn't wait any longer, he was so nervous. I did find out that Flavio had in fact, asked my Dad for his approval to marry his daughter. Sadly, Dad isn't here with us, but I know he will be by my side as I walk down the isle.
