We are getting married!

Twenty-four hours. That is the exact amount of time that Theresa gave herself to find the man of her dreams when she made a profile on Hinge, a mobile dating app. So, she was understandably a little wary when she matched with some coach from Maryland, who, up until that point, had more success recruiting student-athletes to colleges than he had recruiting the right girlfriend. Needless to say, the distance never stopped Chris and Theresa from learning more about one another and realizing that everything they could have ever wanted was right in front of them. Whether it was a night out by the water in Annapolis, strolling through the streets of West Chester, or simply being in each other’s company on the beaches of Ocean City, for two years, their hearts continued to grow fonder. Moving in together in August of 2024 to a place they could call their own made it clear that Theresa was willing to put up with Chris’s carefree attitude when it came to folding laundry and that Chris was open to letting Theresa know that the toilet seat lid absolutely needs to be put down when not in use. And now to the proposal! There were any number of locations that were special but Chris knew the one that would strike the biggest chord with Theresa…her college lacrosse field. A field full of amazing memories for Theresa during her career was about to add another. Then again, when Chris missed his initial turn and proceeded to almost drive into a snowbank, Theresa was more than a little skeptical that they would ever get out of the car again, much less make it to dinner on time. Little did she know, dinner would be secondary that night to a life changing moment. When Chris dropped to one knee at midfield (where she played, obviously), Theresa gasped along with the family members who were watching secretly and trying to stay warm above the field. Theresa had been wondering about this moment for her entire life…what it would look like, what it would feel like, and who it would be with. Chris was just glad she said yes! Chris and Theresa are eternally grateful for the support and encouragement over the past three years that everyone has shown toward them and their future together. The relationships developed with welcoming family members and friends have only strengthened the bonds between Chris and Theresa. They are also mindful of those who could not be here for this moment and are watching and cheering from above. Looking forward to celebrating with those coming from near and far on November 8th!
