We're Getting Married!

Alec and Theresa met on her day to shadow Bishop Connolly High School, while still in the eighth grade. Alec, who lived across the street from the school, was late that day, and was in the main office getting a late slip to go to class. The front office administrator, who Theresa knew at the time, commented “isn’t he really cute?” after handing him his late pass to go to class. One year later, Theresa made the decision to go to Bishop Connolly High School. On her first day of school, she found herself in first period Art class, which Alec was in, and was late to, again. Alec made many attempts to introduce himself, and talk to Theresa throughout the semester, but with her lack of interest, and her one-word responses, he concluded she must be a Portuguese foreign exchange student. Flash forward three years, in a panic to improve his college resume, Alec found himself running for student body president his senior year. His political campaign consisted of reaching out to his Snapchat contacts and asking for votes. Theresa did not vote for him, but Alec did in fact rank higher in the polls than Theresa’s candidate of choice, therefore taking the presidency. With his already busy agenda, Alec also added starting Varsity quarterback to his plate, and with this new found confidence, he was ready to strike again. Through a mutual friend, Alec started scheming up a plan to court his future bride, which brought the two together at the start of his senior year, and her junior year. A relationship, started in 2016, was built on going to school dances together, graduations, supporting each other through college, starting new careers, and eventually moving in with one-another. Years after that first shadow day and art class encounter, the two are still choosing each other—proof that sometimes the best love stories begin with persistence, perfect timing, and a little bit of showing up late.
