Like many great love stories, ours began when we least expected it. We first met at a mutual friend's engagement party (thanks, Taylor and Macy!). What started as a chance meeting quickly turned into something neither of us could ignore. At the time, Clayton was living in Los Angeles and Amanda was living in San Francisco, so getting to know each other required a little creativity - and a lot of miles. For our first official date, we met halfway in beautiful Carmel, California. What was supposed to be a simple weekend together quickly became the start of something much bigger. Despite the distance, we found ourselves counting down the days until we could see each other again, making every visit, phone call, and excuse to spend time together count. After eight months of dating, Clayton made the move to San Francisco. While he technically got his own place (which eventually became our first home together), it's safe to say he spent most of his time living with Amanda and Maddie - her best friend, bridesmaid, and quickly an honorary participant in our love story. Those early days were filled with city adventures, impromptu weeknight dinners, and the realization that life was simply better together. As our relationship grew, we decided to make an even bigger move and put down roots in Walnut Creek. There, we've built a beautiful home, surrounded ourselves with a village we are endlessly grateful for, and created countless memories while dreaming about everything still to come. Looking back, it's hard to believe that one night led us here. What started as a chance meeting became a long-distance love story, then a shared home, and now a lifetime together. Through every chapter, one thing has remained true: we have always been happiest when we're together.
