The Phoenix Art Museum is considered the largest art museum in the southwestern United States. There are always rotating exhibitions and installations at the art museum so check those out on the museum website's homepage as well as the events calendar.
One of the best places in Phoenix to see the sunset and walk-around. Either park in the West Buttes Parking Lot or you can park anywhere near the Ranger Office Loop Trail to walk around the other side of the park and Hole in the Rock.
If you have a rental car and the time, this spot is definitely worth the drive! The arboretum holds collections of desert plants from the United States, Mexico, Australia, Madagascar, India, China, Japan, Israel, South America, the Middle East, Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Arabian Peninsula—all told 4,025 taxa and 20,000 plants within 135 acres of gardens. BTA is Arizona’s oldest and largest botanical garden with nearly 5 miles of well kept walking trails.
Located inside Scottsdale Fashion Square, Wonderspaces is an immersive art experience featuring interactive, large-scale installations by local and international artists. The space combines art with technology, light, and sound to create engaging, multi-sensory exhibits. Wonderspaces provides a family-friendly environment that appeals to people of all ages. If you do plan to go here, make sure to buy tickets in advance from the website because you have to select a date a time slot for entry (we reccommend general admission tickets). Fun fact: We went on a date here during our first year of dating!
We LOVE this spot (and so do our dogs). AZ Wilderness is our go-to spot for hanging out in Downtown Phoenix. We always bring our friends and family here when they are in town. Fun fact: To celebrate our engagement, we invited our friends to join us here!
