Michael and Thea met in 2017 while working for the same company but had never interacted before due to working in different departments. However, their first conversation was full of sarcastic jokes and obvious laughter. They soon discovered that they both loved to play and have fun. After a few days of speaking in passing, Michael asked Thea to get lunch with him. That 30-minute moment was all it took for them to realize their connection was truly something special. Michael and Thea started building a genuine friendship with no expectations of becoming a couple. They had their first official date at Red Smoke in Downtown Detroit, where they discovered their love for food and music. Michael introduced Thea to new music, and she had the words memorized by the next time they saw each other. This bond grew to be one of the centerpieces of their relationship. Michael not only fell in love with Thea but also with her daughter Nyomi. Their love grew to encompass their budding family when their daughter Nya was born. At the end of Nya's first birthday celebration, Thea thanked everyone who had taken the time to be part of this special milestone. Completely oblivious to what Michael would do next, she gave him the microphone. Michael said, "...The last person I want to say thank you to is the most important person to me..." and then he got down on one knee and proposed to Thea. Overcome with joy, Thea replied yes, and on September 22nd, 2024, they will exchange vows, dance to their favorite songs, and be surrounded by their loved ones as they embark on this new journey together as husband and wife.
