Dawn and James grew up just a few minutes apart in the same small town, crossing paths more times than they could count, at school, at sporting events, and anywhere life in a small town takes you. They had always known of each other, but it was not until high school biology class that their real friendship began. Sitting next to each other led to inside jokes, endless conversations, and a bond that quickly became one of the most important parts of their lives. For that school year they were best friends, the kind of friends who knew everything about each other. They laughed through late nights, supported each other through ups and downs, and even watched the other navigate different relationships. While deep down, there were always feelings between them, but the timing was never quite right... until it finally was. Their friendship started turning into something more during their favorite kind of nights: long car rides with no real destination, just good music, great conversations, and a stop at Sonic for late-night drinks. It was during one of those drives, parked under the quiet night sky, sharing stories, that they finally made it official on October 11th, 2018. It was there, in the most simple and perfect way, that they officially became Dawn and James. Their first "official" date came not long after with pizza and a movie night watching Black Panther in James’ basement. It was easy, it was natural, and it just felt right, like something that had been waiting to happen all along. When college came, it took them to different states, but never apart. They made long-distance work with weekend trips, late-night FaceTime calls, and a lot of patience and understanding. Every mile between them only made their bond stronger. After six and a half years full of laughter, late nights, growing pains, and unforgettable memories, James planned the perfect proposal. What Dawn thought was just a casual couple’s photoshoot turned into the biggest surprise of her life when James got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Through happy tears, she said yes. But the surprises did not stop there, as that night, Dawn walked into a dinner where her closest friends and family were waiting, ready to celebrate their next chapter together. Now, Dawn and James can not wait to say “I do,” surrounded by the people who have been part of their story from the very beginning.
