Athens

The Wedding Website of Kayla Edgerton and Jesse Ray
Athens is a beautiful city with plenty to see, especially if you're a foodie! All the restaurants in downtown Athens are highly recommended, but we listed a few of our favorites. Athens is also home to the University of Georgia and the Georgia Bulldogs, so be prepared to see UGA pride on every corner!
Downtown Athens

Downtown Athens

Athens, GA 30601

Downtown Athens is perfect for anyone! It has the cutest shops, restaurants, and bars if you're looking for a night out. It also has some great scenery if you're just wanting to walk around!

Creature Comforts Downtown Taproom and Brewery

Creature Comforts Downtown Taproom and Brewery

271 West Hancock Avenue, Athens, GA 30601

A small Brewery in Athens we love to visit when we can. Very open and spacious with the glass garage doors open, or you can sit outside with covered tables. Be sure to try our favorite- Classic City Lager or their popular IPA- Tropicailia. Although, anything you try you'll be leaving with a 6-pack to take back with you!

Terrapin Beer Co.

Terrapin Beer Co.

265 Newton Bridge Road, Athens, GA 30607

Terrapin is another brewery in Athens. They have a good selection of different beer, but even if beer isn't for you they have food trucks and the atmosphere itself is enough to make you want to come back!

Tree That Owns Itself

Tree That Owns Itself

277 South Finley Street, Athens, GA 30605

Just something interesting and different to see while visiting! and yes, the tree does legally own itself. Click the link if you're interested to know how!

Georgia Theatre

Georgia Theatre

215 North Lumpkin Street, Athens, GA 30601

The Georgia theater is one of the oldest buildings in Athens and is definitely a must see! The rooftop bar has some amazing drinks, with the best view of all of Athens!

The Place

The Place

229 East Broad Street, Athens, GA 30608

The Place in downtown Athens is one of Kayla's favorite restaurants. There is an upstairs with a bar and a downstairs, as well as a small outdoor area. The Southern Fried Veggies and the Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich with Pimento cheese is to die for! *If you do want to visit, plan accordingly because it is a smaller restaurant that is often packed. I would recommend calling ahead to see how long the wait is or if they take reservations, or if you're already in downtown you'll be able to tell when walking by it.

Cali N Tito's

Cali N Tito's

1427 South Lumpkin Street, Athens, GA 30605

Cali N Tito's is a family friendly Latin restaurant you have to see when you visit Athens. The atmosphere alone is so interesting, you'll want to go back! They have anything from sandwiches, to tacos, to fish, but we highly recommend the tacos. *Cali N Tito's is very family friendly, as in they have a lot of interactive activities for children throughout the restaurant, which means there's usually kids running around. Although I have never found it to be an issue, I know not everyone enjoys that type of setting. Regardless, there is a bar and is still equally as enjoyable for adults.

J. Christopher's

J. Christopher's

1650 South Lumpkin Street, Athens, GA 30606

cute little restaurant with the best Brunch! They are open daily 7am-2pm.

The Grill

The Grill

171 College Avenue, Athens, GA 30601

The perfect place if you're just looking for a good burger or sandwich. It's a diner that's been open since 1981, and they're open all night! Making it the perfect place to stop and eat after a night out.

Peppino's Pizzeria

Peppino's Pizzeria

950 Whitehall Road, Athens, GA 30605

Some of the best pizza we've ever had!

For all the days along the way
