What do you write about the person that took vacation time from her incredibly demanding job, to surprise you by coming down to Florida, so she could help you MOVE? Or the person that helped orchestrate your entire engagement, and kept you totally in the dark, even when you're super nosy and hate surprises? Or the person that calls you up randomly when you're feeling super blue to ask you to go fishing off a dock in the middle of November on Long Island? Or the person you spent every Sunday and Monday with on the beach for probably 4 summers straight, from dawn until dusk? Or the person that can show up to your parent's house, hang out with them, and ask when you'll be coming by? That person is Alyssa, and the bride's sister at heart.

Zayden Grant

Best Man

Having a nephew is like having a built-in best friend. It's cool to be able to feel like a kid again. It has been Alex's pleasure being able to watch Zayden grow up and he is honored to have him stand by his side as his best man. Alex and Zayden love hanging out together, going in the pool or playing basketball, one of Zayden's passions. Even though Zayden is incredibly talented, Alex's extremely competitive side doesn't just let Zayden win. Alex currently holds the record of 342-7. The day that Zayden is able to dunk on Alex will be one for the record books.

Alyson Karpman

This story almost has to be told in person, but we'll try our best. Alyson was visiting her mother for the summer, who lived two doors down from Rachel's parents. Rachel's father ran into Alyson, and not very casually mentioned he had a daughter with no friends, as she had recently moved down. He encouraged Alyson to leave her info in their mailbox. They texted, and decided to walk to the pool together. Upon exiting their houses at the same time, Rachel assessed Alyson, and immediately noticed her glittery party nail, amongst the rest of her fluorescent pink nails, and a top knot bun, a la Snooky. A yin and yang friendship blossomed. They can now be found being beach bums or lounging on the couch as often as possible. Rachel is still listed in Alyson's phone as "Rachel Two Doors Down."

Lauren Warner

Lauren and Rachel became fast friends in college, due to their mutual love for Disney movies, pop-punk music, brunch and crazy adventures. Never a dull moment with these two, as there is usually a lot of sideways glances and then uncontrollable laughter. Lauren and Rachel were the queen of sleepovers back at Penn State, with the innumerable fleece blankets they made together, while always including all the furballs that Rachel acquired as pets. Whether it's saving Lauren's life from ginger, visiting Florida to watch the pineapples fall on New Years Eve, or Rachel crashing Lauren's honeymoon, these girls have been through so much together. To this day, the girls can still be found at pop punk concerts acting like teenagers.

Jillian Schmitt

Somewhere in between both being new transplants to Florida, dating native Boca Ratonians, and our affinity for dresses with pockets, Jillian and Rachel bonded quite quickly. As adults, it's not often you meet a friend so organically and click right away, and just kind of know, you know? Rachel can always count on Jillian to make her laugh, and conduct a full blown karaoke concert in a kitchen. Now, as we plan our weddings together, we have somehow become even closer.

Taiysha Vargas

Taiysha and Rachel met when Rachel first started working for BMW over a decade ago. At the time, Rachel didn't know it, but Taiysha would become more like a big sister to her than anything. Rachel was still navigating the ins- and outs of adulthood, and Ty was there to guide her every step of the way, including up to the day before Rachel and Alex got engaged! There have been beach trips, shopping trips, pumpkin picking, a ton of laughs, some tears and some because we were laughing too hard, and an incident where Rachel got folded up in a beach chair.

Dawn Gannon

Bridesmaid

Dawn and Rachel became blonde partners in crime in college, taking long strolls down the aisles of the State College Walmart, planning exciting SAI events (a certain Jungle themed party comes to mind,) scoring the Money Chip at Champ’s Dollar Nacho Night and having spontaneous karaoke moments while Rachel serenaded on the piano. Their most memorable times include Rachel almost [actually] losing it in the dairy aisle of Walmart due to a lack of Diet Coke consumption, peer pressuring DJ’s into playing their songs, harmonizing to literally anything and everything, car manufacturers, and baking questionably shaped cakes that overflow in ovens. Dawn has been a constant source of the best hugs ever, with a contagious laugh that keeps Rachel smiling indefinitely.

Amanda Slutsky

Rachel met Amanda shortly after August 3rd, 1994, after Amanda was born. Amanda probably doesn't remember some of Rachel's favorite memories together, but they include eating their grandma's Stella Doro cookies together, playing on the Big Comfy Couch, riding bikes together on the boardwalk, and fieldtrips to the beach with the whole family. Now that they're grown up, hanging out looks a little different, to the tune of birthday brunches, and coming to visit down here in Florida after Amanda passed the bar. Rachel is grateful that there is at least one more person in the family that likes the beach.

Michele Slutsky

Rachel can remember the day that she learned that Michele had been born, and remembers the car ride to the hospital in Mineola to meet her. Holidays spent with the family were always Michele and Rachel's favorites, with Michele always insisting on helping out in the kitchen. Over the years, playtime turned into dinners out together, and shopping trips, and gossiping over FaceTime. Rachel can always count on Michele to send pics that are total blasts from the past, and reminisce over old memories.

Derek Raymond

Alex had the honor and privilege of meeting Derek January 5th, 1991. Some of their favorite memories together include finding things underneath each others bed and regifting them during the holidays, spontaneous trips to Flanigans, and family trips when they were young to Vermont to see family and snow. Besides being brothers, they are also coworkers under the fearless leadership of their father Harry.

Daniel Wilson

Groomsman

Daniel and Alex first met back in middle school through a mutual friend. They have been inseparable ever since. From skateboarding together, to playing paintball, and now poker, their bond has only grown stronger. Alex can always count on Dan to go all out in the kitchen, and create a delicious masterpiece. Daniel convinced Alex to come out to the golf driving range one day, and ever since then, Alex was hooked on golf. Some years later, Daniel now struggles to beat Alex on the course. Through the years, they have seen late nights and early mornings, and have been by each others side through the good and the bad. The smell of cocoa butter still brings back fond memories for the both of them.

Keegan Potter

Keegan and Alex are the ultimate authority of all things dessert, including but not limited to Captain Jack's Buried Treasure. A total foodie, Keegan keeps Alex up to date on all the newest, latest and greatest developments with restaurants, and new places to try. Keegan is also a friend and coworker of the bride, however when the three are together, Rachel does end up becoming the third wheel. Keegan is also Alex's favorite person to enjoy gluten laden foods with.

Kindergarten was a good year for both Alex and Jared, where they met, and then continued on as classmates through high school. Through the years, these two have been sponsored together, and skated both with and against each other. Their skateboarding took them to Camp Woodward in Pennsylvania, and to many other skateparks around Florida. Jared's mom also holds a special place in Alex's heart with her famous corn muffins.
