Chris and Kristia’s story actually began long before they met. Louisville being what it is ( a little Ville), Chris and Kris had plenty of mutual friends and acquaintances but didn’t have the pleasure of getting to know each other for some time. That is until they had ACL tears and surgeries in the same year, then Instagram allowed for an introduction. Occasional check-ins about how rehab was going developed into some “Let’s grab dinner to catch up” messages, but nothing took place until both their knees and hearts were healed and ready to be put to the test. For those who were at that fateful UofL Homecoming tailgate, you would’ve seen some chemistry between two people vibrant and enjoying life. (Chris was particularly lively, and it’s a wonder that Kristia is still with him.) That was indeed the beginning of what has been and will continue to be some absolutely incredible laughs, smiles, and lasting memories full of love shared by them in addition to their beautiful son, Kyrie. These moments and their commitment to making more memories through love with God as their guide was reinforced when Kyrie turned one, and Chris bent down on his good knee to ask Kristia for her hand in marriage. Since then, the last ten months have been riddled with navigating what a wedding would look like amid a pandemic, among other issues. Still, they are particularly thrilled to have moved their wedding up and to have a few friends and family witness their union.
