August 4th, 2012 Katie invited Josh to a pool party at a friends house, it would be the first time they were meeting after talking to each other for a week or so over Facebook. Katie was waiting in front of the house to greet him. When she saw the car pull up, she instantly became nervous and fell to her knees with her hands over her head in a cone shape (pretending to be a lawn gnome.) When Josh got out of the car and said how adorable it was, Katie knew from that moment that this was going to be the start of something incredible. They spent the entire night sitting with their feet in the pool talking about their lives, music, art, and everything else in this entire universe. It was absolute perfection.
June 3rd, 2017 After a long day of both Katie and Josh working, they came home and snuggled up in bed. They talked and talked and talked the night away (like usual.) Although... Something was different about that particular night. Their eyes were gleaming when they starred at each other and their cheeks were getting rosey. Many of you might think you know where this story is going... But surprise! 5 minutes later Katie ended up in the bathroom throwing up her dinner (blame it on the baby in her belly.) When she came out of the bathroom (hair a total wreck, make up running down her face, and don't forget the puke breath...) Josh called her into the room. He said something along the lines of... "Seeing what your body is going through to take care of my daughter is incredible. I was going to wait to do this and plan something more spectacular, but you've never looked more beautiful to me and I can't wait any longer. I want you to marry me." They were both shaking and nervous, just like the night they met. But of course, Katie immediately threw her arms around her new fiancé and said yes to spending the rest of her life with her best friend.
August 4th, 2017 Exactly 5 years since the day they met. What's the theme? Simple, casual, and fun. As most of you know; Josh and Katie have easy going, laid back personalities. They want to start this new chapter of their life the exact same way. The wedding is going to be held in Erin and Sherrie Russo-Priest's backyard - decorated with flowers and string lights (think hippies getting hitched.) The ceremony is going to start with reading vows and saying I do's. Then they are going to move on to some dancing and dinner. The night is going to come to a close sitting around the bonfire with their closest family and friends. They will be roasting marshmallows, listening to music, playing some beer-pong, and laughing the night away. They want their guests to be as comfortable as possible, so please dress casual and bring a blanket and a lawn chair to curl up around the fire. This is a B.Y.O.B. event, so the true fun is in your hands! The wedding is going to be a celebration of two families coming together as one, don't worry about the gifts... your presence is your presents! They hope each of you can be there for this beautiful evening.
